LGBT Cougs work to create and facilitate opportunities for new and on-going friendships among LGBTQIA alumni, provide mentoring and scholarships to current students, raise awareness about sexual orientation and gender identity needs at WSU, and support the university's Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center (GIESORC).

Give to LGBTQ+ Initiatives

This fund was created several years ago and continues to be the fund that GIESORC leadership uses to provide programming for students as well as respond to student’s emerging needs.

Your gift of any size can make a major difference to GIESORC as we try to stretch our budget as far as we can while still providing the quality and quantity of service that is needed.

Emerging Student Needs supported through this fund can vary, but typically includes things like providing a cap and gown for a student who can’t afford rental, or providing book scholarships.

President's Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation

The President's Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation, commonly referred to as GIESO, is a system wide commission that advises the president on matters relating to LGBTQ+ concerns. More information can be found here. Apply to be a part of the Commission here.
